Maren I. Christensen is Monterey College of Law's Dean of Clinical Education and
Executive Director of the Mandell Gisnet Center.  Prior to joining the law school, Dean
Christensen was a civil litigator practicing employment and consumer law in Oakland,
California.  She also practiced at a large international firm in New York, working on wide
ranging civil litigation, international arbitration, and government enforcement
investigations, as well as pro bono immigration matters.  Dean Christensen served for
three years as a law clerk for the Honorable Martha Vazquez on the United States
District Court for the District of New Mexico.  
Dean Christensen is a graduate of Berkeley Law and the University of Chicago.  She
also has a master’s degree in international law and conflict resolution from The Fletcher
School at Tufts University.  She has completed extensive mediation certification at
Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute.  She was born and raised in Salinas,
California, and is bilingual in Spanish.
